Today

Sitting in the early morning light,
Smell of incense floating in the air.
Wooden Buddha smiles in front of me.

As the bell chimes I open my eyes.
Calm and present, I return the smile.

Reality?

How real is reality when a green cyclops can surprise us in a busy street?

A question

When I started this blogging experiment, a little over a year ago, it wasn’t even meant to see the light of day. KamikaZEN was supposed to be little more than my private test-to-destruction playground to try out new technologies.

Blame it on impermanence, everything around us and we ourselves change all the time, and so has this blog.

As my life evolves so have my priorities and goals for it, and that includes KamikaZEN. At this point I believe the time has come for it to become a grown-up and define itself.

So, I guess it’s time to make some decisions, and I would like to ask for your help in doing so.

What do you think would be the best thing to do with this little blog of mine in order to help it become a big blog?

Some considerations roaming around my head:

  • There is no main theme  right now, just a bunch of loose poems, photos and short stories heaped together in a pile.
  • I chose English as the language for this site, even though it’s not my native tongue. Should I change this and translate everything into Spanish? If so, why and what for?
  • Would it be better to re-organize what exists already here, archive it as version 1.0 or simply reboot and start fresh?

I’d really like to know your ideas, opinions and views on this, they will be most helpful and warmly received.

Thanks

Alfonso

Rainy morning

Raindrops race each other
Down the window pane,
I watch in childish wonder
At the trails they leave behind.

Thoughts come back to here,
Mind comes back to now,
As the sudden roll of thunder
Breaks the morning air.

Tea

A rainy night,
Old friends’ faces,
Childhood toys,
Loves long lost.

Isn’t it wonderful,
And oh, so very strange,
What memories can lurk
Inside a simple cup of tea?

Sun

Bright, white flash
On my neigbour’s wall.
A moment of sunlight
Frozen in my eyes.

Night

Sendíng all my thoughts away,
Calmly resting in the now.
Sleep awaits for me tonight.
Will I dream? Is this the dream?

Loneliness

Strange thoughts go by
Floating thru my head,
Days of rain and shadows
People, places now long gone.

Mind comes back to here,
Thoughts come back to now.
Closing up the flow of memories,
Opened by a cup tea.

Post hibernating

Unfortunately iPhone os 3.0 seems to have badly broken WP.app, thus rendering my ability to post from my iPhone unusable.

I’m patiently waiting for the newest build to be updated at the app store… but if worse comes to worse, anyone know of a good alternative I can use?
