Last star peeking
Thru my window.
A shiny dot
On deep blue sky.
Mind settles,

Morning thoughts
Run like wildfire.
The mind wanders,

Thousand jewels
Shining brightly,
I drift away
From here and now.

Breath flows in,
Thoughts dissolve.
Breath flows out,
I let go.

Smoke rises high,
Clear morning light flows in.
Mind returns to now.

This sitting cushion,
Made by hands unknown to me,
Brings the mind back home.

Step after step,
Step follows step.
Feeling the road.

Breathe in, breathe out.
Be here, be now.

Follow the breath.
